Privacy Policy

1.1 Policy

Positive Group Holdings Pty. Ltd. (“Positive”) and its related companies acknowledge and take seriously the Privacy Code as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended by the Privacy Amendment Private Sector Act 2000) and its associated National Privacy Principles (NPPs). As from 21 December 2002 Positive will have to comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act.

This statement has been prepared in compliance with the NPPs and sets out Positive’s policy for handling personal information it collects, stores, uses and discloses when dealing with its clients and business partners through the web and other means.

1.2 Information Collected

Website

When opening our website, the following information is collected from your visit: IP address, date and time of visit, files requested and browser used.  Our website logs are not personally identifiable and we make no attempt to link them with the individuals that actually browse the site.  We analyse our website logs to continually improve the value of our site.

If you register for one of our courses through the Internet, we may also collect the following information from you: your name, employer, contact details, position and the course you are interested in.  If you choose not to share certain information with us, Positive may not be able to supply you with the requested service.

Organisation

In addition, Positive may collect personal information from you that is necessary to assist us in providing our products and services.  This information may include an individual’s name, address, date of birth, occupation, employer, employer’s address, contact details (including phone, fax and email address), banking details, payroll details and other employment related information such as salary details, superannuation contributions, Tax File Number and PAYG withholding tax.  If you choose not to share certain information with us, Positive may not be able to supply you with the requested service.

Generally, Positive collects personal information about individuals directly from the individual or directly from Positive’s clients who are the individuals’ employer.  Where Positive is provided with personal information by its clients, it relies on its clients having obtained the consent of those individuals to the collection, use and disclosure of his or her personal information to and by Positive.  It also relies on its clients drawing the points set out in this statement to the individual’s attention.

1.3 Use of Information Collected

Positive collects and stores personal information on our secure database to, among others:

  • Provide products and services in the areas of Outsourced Payroll and Workforce Automation;
  • Assist our clients with any queries about our products or services;
  • Administer our client relationships;
  • Account management and billing;
  • Provide information on our products and services.

If you do not wish to receive information about our products and services, please advise us in writing.

1.4 Disclosure of Information Collected

Positive will at all times use its best endeavours to respect and ensure the privacy of information pertaining to the company, its employees, clients and business partners.

Positive may, from time to time, need to disclosure personal information collected to various organisations and/or parties such as the Australian Taxation Office, banking/financial institutions, superannuation authorities, health insurance organisations, contracted service providers and business partners of Positive.

In addition, Positive may need to disclosure personal information collected where this is required or authorised by law or in situations where Positive reasonably believes that the use and disclosure is necessary for functions or activities carried out by, or on behalf of, an enforcement body.

Positive places great value on the protection of personal information which it holds.  Consequently, Positive takes all reasonable steps to protect this information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modifications and disclosure.  We ensure the on-going adequacy of our protective measures by regularly reviewing them.

1.5 Access to Information Collected

Requests for access to personal information can be sent to privacy@positive.com.au.  All endeavours will be made to acknowledge an individual’s request as soon as possible and provide the requested information in a timely manner.  Please note that we will need to verify an individual’s identity. We may also charge for servicing your request.
